US President Donald Trump has called on American citizens to turn out en masse to vote in the midterm elections, emphasizing the mobilization of his supporters to ensure a landslide victory.
During a telephone intervention on Fox News television, on the eve of the election, Trump urged voters to participate in the process, even making a joke about the presence of his name on the ballot.
“You have to go vote, pretend I’m on the ballot, do whatever you want, but we have to vote. If our people vote, we win by a landslide,” the White House chief of staff declared.
The midterm elections are considered an important political test for the US administration, as they determine the composition of Congress and directly affect the president’s ability to advance his political agenda.
