The medical examiner’s report found that both children sustained multiple injuries in the fall. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances and reason for the incident; so far, no clear motive has been reported.

Local media report that Caroline had Williams syndrome, a rare genetic disorder diagnosed in the first months of life that can affect physical and cognitive development as well as the cardiovascular system.

Reports citing an interview with the girl’s mother, given in 2025, say Caroline also had heart and lung problems. Authorities have not confirmed whether her health condition is linked to any possible motives for the incident.
