The wife and son of Urim Fiku, the 61-year-old man from the village of Gotevë in Bulqizë who died three days ago, have been taken to the police station, while investigations to shed light on the incident are continuing.
Forensic examination found that the victim had a gunshot wound, specifically a pistol bullet wound to the chest.

Initially, the family suspected that the 61-year-old had been attacked by a bear. They took him to Bulqizë Hospital and notified the police, but Fiku arrived with no signs of life.
The numerous wounds on his body and injuries to his head raised suspicions about the circumstances of his death. The body was sent to Tirana for forensic examination, where the gunshot wound was also discovered.
Meanwhile, the questioning of the wife and son has shocked the local community. A resident who knew the family well expressed his disbelief that the family members may have been involved in the incident.
“As for Gazmir Fiku, whom they say killed his father, I have never believed that. He was my student and was one of the most exemplary students at school. A very good family… I cannot imagine that his wife and son committed this crime. Perhaps they did it, I don’t know. But I cannot believe that it was carried out by members of the family. His daughter is married and lives elsewhere. His son worked here at OSHHE. At first I heard that he had been injured by a bear. After that, I don’t know what to say. He told me that he had been having a difficult time with the villagers,” a local resident said.
Meanwhile, sources say that further investigative actions are expected, including the questioning of another person close to the family.
Police are continuing their investigation to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and determine responsibility for the death of the 61-year-old.
