Prime Minister Edi Rama has commented on allegations by Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, who is in prison, that the head of government threatened him. Asked by journalists during a press conference with the EU ambassador, Rama chose not to dwell on the clash between them, dismissing the allegations as unimportant.
“The rest is like the noise of these cars coming and going on the boulevard. The things you are asking about are as important to me as that noise is to those of us here,” Rama replied.

Rama went on to discuss the government’s achievements and objectives: “The government is carrying out its duties and continues to work, as I have said before, every day, with precisely the objective for which we have gathered at this conference today. The historic objective of uniting our country with Europe and ensuring we do not miss a historic opportunity that we have created through hard work, but which has also been helped by the stars aligning in Albania’s favor.”
